Indiana & Kentucky McDonald’s Restaurants Offer FREE Drinks to Teachers & Nurses
Before I go any further, can we all agree that there is just something different about a fountain Coke from McDonald's? It’s better, right?
Okay, now that we've established that, let me tell you what a bunch of McDonald's restaurants are doing for some very special folks. On Monday, May 4, 2026, dozens of locally owned McDonald's restaurants in Southern Indiana and Western Kentucky are offering a FREE (any size) beverage of their choice to area teachers and nurses.
Why Is McDonald's Giving Away FREE Drinks?
The real simple answer to that question is why the heck NOT? But, perhaps a more appropriate answer is that this offer is a gesture of gratitude for their ongoing dedication, care, and impact in the community.
I know a whole bunch of teachers and nurses – I married a teacher and my daughter is a nurse – and if there is anybody that deserves something free, it's them. Teachers are criminally underpaid, and often underappreciated, and without nurses, nothing would get done at our hospitals – they would come to a screeching halt.
- When: Monday, May 4, 2026
- Who: Teachers and nurses with a valid ID
- What: Free any size soft drink, hot or iced tea, or coffee
- Where: Locally-owned McDonald’s restaurants throughout the Tri-State, including those in communities surrounding Evansville, Jasper, Vincennes, and Tell City in Indiana, and Henderson, Owensboro, and Madisonville in Kentucky.
How Do I Get My FREE Drink?
All you have to do is swing by a participating McDonald's location (keep in mind that some hours may vary), hit the drive-thru, order your drink (no other purchase is necessary), show them your valid educator ID, and that drink is on the house.

Community members are encouraged to help spread the word and recognize the teachers and nurses who make a difference every day!
