Kentucky’s Favorite Frozen Treat Might Surprise You
The official first day of summer has arrived!
The sound of the ice cream truck coming through the neighborhood is a childhood memory we can all get nostalgic about. As soon as you heard that music, it was a mad dash to find some change and race outside before it disappeared around the corner.
Most of my friends would go for a Fudgsicle or a Push-Up Pop. Not me! I always picked the Bomb Pop. That red, white, and blue frozen masterpiece was a summertime must. In fact, I still buy them at the grocery store today. Some things never change.
Turns out, I'm not the only one who loves a frozen treat when the temperatures start climbing!

According to a recent analysis of Google Trends data by the research team at Madonna University in Detroit, Kentucky's favorite ice pop brand is Outshine Fruit Bars (which I love!). While the most popular ice pop flavor in the Commonwealth is grape.

Nationally, Bomb Pops were the most-searched frozen treat brand, claiming the top spot in 15 states. GoodPop finished second with 14 states, followed by Otter Pops with 11. Outshine Fruit Bars landed in fourth place nationwide, but Kentucky gave them enough love to make them our state's favorite.

When it comes to flavors, orange was the big winner across America, topping 16 states. Grape came in second with 11 states, while Fruit Punch finished third. Cherry, watermelon, raspberry, lemon, and lime all had their fans, too.
One thing's for sure. Whether it was a Bomb Pop from the ice cream truck, an Otter Pop from the freezer, or a popsicle after a long day outside, frozen treats have a way of taking us right back to summer vacation!
So now I have to ask. What was your favorite frozen treat growing up?
