Preface: Yes, I know the Cardinals lost their first game in the NCAA Tournament this week, but this cake looks too cool.

Here we are again watching wall-to-wall basketball until a new NCAA Men's Basketball champ is crowned, this year on April 7th. My bracket busted on day one, but I still like to see if I get any big upsets right. Oh yeah, I picked McNeese State! Kentucky cruised into the second round where they will face Illinois on Sunday. Louisville gave their best effort in the 8/9 game, but Creighton was too much for the Cards. The Cards played the first game of the tournament in Lexington. I'm sad but Louisville did the unthinkable.

They hired a new coach, the charismatic Pat Kelsey. They welcomed a host of new players and recruits, some came along with Kelsey from Charleston. The Cards made it not only to the ACC Tournament championship game for the first time since they joined the conference in 2014, but this year, Louisville was back in the big dance for the first time in six years.

In a world of Kentucky fans, the city of Louisville wanted to celebrate the Cards' resurgence and Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse did just that.

The Cards Madness Cake features a raspberry mousse, citric cake, and Oreo crumbles in the shape of a golden basketball. It's only available for a limited time.

So I mentioned Kentucky won and there happens to be a Jeff Ruby's steakhouse in Lexington:

The Wildcat Cake is available year-round. It's a blueberry cake with Kentucky blackberry jam, cream cheese icing, and chantilly. Are the shoes edible? Yes.

I've Planned Road Trips Around These Kentucky Locations

I love a good road trip, short or long. My explorations through Kentucky have led me to a variety of destinations. I've rounded up some of them for a road trip recommendation guide, if you will.
