Kentucky Senator Rand Paul Assaulted at Bowling Green Home

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul was assaulted at his Bowling Green home on Friday afternoon. 

59-year-old Rene Boucher, a Bowling Green doctor, was arrested by Kentucky State Police and charged with one count of Assault in the 4th degree. Senator Paul maintained a minor injury and is said to be fine. Boucher was taken to the Warren County Detention Center. Fourth degree assault is a class A misdemeanor and is punishable by up to 12 months in jail.

Boucher is being held on a $5,000 bond. Depending on the degree of Paul's injuries, more charges could be brought, that's according to the Warren County Attorney's office.
