Are You Ready for a ‘Nightmare at the Zoo’ in Southern KY?

If you Google "zoos in Kentucky," you'll get the Louisville Zoo, the Kentucky Reptile Zoo, Kentucky Down Under, the Newport Aquarium, and Colonial Gardens. That last one, by the way, hasn't been a zoo in years.

What you won't find is anything resembling a zoo in Bowling Green KY. But that doesn't mean you can't experience a "Nightmare at the Zoo" in the Commonwealth's third-largest city. So how, exactly, does that happen, you might be asking yourself?

Well, you're going to have to visit the Historic RailPark and Train Museum in Bowling Green. That's ALWAYS interesting, but the scares ramp up this time of year with the museum's unique Halloween experience which has one more weekend to go.

The animals aren't the only thing laying in wait because WE can't wait for you to join us for the Haunted Lantern Tours!

Personally, I'll go ANYWHERE that offers a "haunted lantern tour", but throw in zoo nightmares and trains and I am hooked. Here's a taste of the HORROR that awaits you:

By the way, I don't know who wrote the following on the Historic RailPark & Museum's website, but they're expertly channeling Washington Irving. (Although I don't think the Headless Horseman is scheduled for an appearance...as far as I know.)

Guests will walk through train cars and encounter all manner of thrills and chills. And perhaps the best part is that all proceeds will go right back into any and all preservation efforts for the museum, one of Bowling Green's best attractions.
