Newburgh Zombie Farm Is Getting Bigger and Scarier in 2026

I'm getting excited about fall, but I've probably mentioned it several times in past writings. It's my favorite season, and it isn't close. So, even though I'm not a pumpkin spice guy and never will be, I welcome its arrival. And there's never a bad time to talk about Halloween, so let's do it, and let's start with one of the tri-state's most popular "spooky season" attractions.

I've never been to the Newburgh Civitan Zombie Farm when there wasn't a line. The popular indoor/outdoor attraction usually draws visitors from all over southern Indiana and western Kentucky. But in 2026, a new partnership figures to make it "the biggest & most immersive haunted attraction in the tri-state area." That's what it says at the top of the Henderson Haunts Facebook page, and who am I to argue?

Henderson Haunts Teams Up With Newburgh Civitan Zombie Farm

The roots of Henderson Haunts go back to a garage home haunt in 2021. Henderson Haunts LLC officially launched in 2023, and its attraction, The Reckoning: A Story of Torment, eventually moved from the garage to Henderson's Audubon Village Shopping Center.

Newburgh Zombie Farm Is Being Reborn in 2026

But there's much more to the partnership with Newburgh Civitan than simply bringing Henderson Haunts into the mix.

According to a press release, Newburgh Civitan believed its longtime Zombie Farm fundraiser needed what spokesperson Jim Miller called a "total reset." At the same time, Henderson Haunts was looking for a new location. When Civitan members learned about that in January, they invited Henderson Haunts to help breathe new life into the Zombie Farm. The partnership was unanimously approved by Newburgh Civitan's active members.

The result is Zombie Farm Reborn, a completely new haunted house for the Zombie Farm's 53rd season. Organizers promise a more immersive experience with new scares, storytelling and surprises when it opens September 25th.

The Zombie Farm is Newburgh Civitan's annual fundraiser, with much of the proceeds going to other nonprofit organizations. The organization places a particular emphasis on serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Henderson Haunts Wants to Pay You to Scare People

Of course, bringing all those new scares to life requires people to do the scaring. That's where the casting call comes in.

Henderson Haunts will host an open casting call on Saturday, August 29th at 10 a.m. at the Newburgh Civitan Zombie Farm, 5466 Vann Road, Newburgh, Indiana. This casting call is for adults only, and the actors will be working for Henderson Haunts and not Newburgh Civitan. The jobs page at hendersonhaunts.com lists some pretty easy requirements: must love horror and Halloween, must have a flair for the dramatic, and must love getting paid to scare people.
