Is a Lamborghini Really Being Used as a Tennessee Highway Patrol Cruiser?
Years ago, while driving through Texas, a Dodge Charger came flying up behind me and then passed me. As soon as he did, the lights came on, and I realized this was probably a Texas state trooper. At that time, I'd never seen an unmarked vehicle like that. Previously, they'd made more sense. (Yes, I was thankful the lights came on after he passed me.)
And they can be even less conspicuous than that (Dodge Chargers are often used as marked vehicles). In Florida, for example, you could get pulled over by an officer in an unmarked Ford Mustang GT. That's a new one on me.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol Lamborghini
Now, let's head back up Interstate 75 to Tennessee, where a most unlikely vehicle has understandably caused a lot of commotion on social media. Imagine seeing this while driving down Interstate 65 or Interstate 40.
That's a Wrap
Many people didn't have to imagine it. But no, it is not an official Tennessee State Police or Highway Patrol cruiser. I do have to wonder if wrapping a vehicle that isn't the type used by police agencies is illegal. The man driving it must have wondered, as well, after this encounter with the authorities.
The authorities would probably we rather not wrap civilian vehicles to look exactly like official cruisers, but that whole reckless driving thing? Yeah, that's not wise, regardless of what you're driving.
Will you see this thing the next time you visit Tennessee? I have no idea. But I do know you'll have nothing to worry about if you think you've done something wrong and that Lambo sidles up beside you.
