Are you a foodie road tripper? It's someone like me who travels to certain destinations because of the food. Yes, I'm a proud foodie road tripper.

Best Local Fast Food

When I go, I make sure to plan visits to other locales to complement my culinary journey. And I'm always looking for good tips, like one from lovefood.com that highlights the best local fast-food restaurants in each state. Since I spend more time in Kentucky and Indiana than anywhere else, that's where I've narrowed my focus. So let's get started.

Garcia's Hot Dogs - Indianapolis

No one will ever need to drag me to a restaurant that specializes in hot dogs. And when you're Garcia's Hot Dogs, and you have menu items like Ruben hot dogs, BLT dogs, chili cheese brats, Dorito dogs, famous Chicago dogs, dogs with everything, and a host of others, it's going to be me who does the dragging. There are items on the menu that aren't hot dogs, and I'm sure they're delicious, but I might never know what they're like.

Chicken King - Louisville

I have driven long distances for chicken, so a quick trip to Louisville is not an issue. Their fried party wing boxes range from a 6-piece all the way up to a 120-piece. Are you hungry? Their fried chicken boxes range from an 8-piece to a 150-piece. How hungry are you?

Chicken King also offers specialty wings (tossed in signature sauces), barbecue, and fried fish, all of which are likely quite mouthwatering. This dude was quite pleased...

But I think I've found what could be my all-time favorite side dish, and I haven't even tried it.

That. Looks. Phenomenal.

Louisville is a great food city, anyway, and this is just another great option to put into "rotation." My only problem is not knowing what sauce I want or how many. They call it a good problem.

Country Stars With Their Own Bars + Restaurants

Of all of the side hustles country artists could partake in, opening a bar or restaurant is the most fitting — and very common. After all, many of these stars got their start on a barstool, tip jar nearby, playing their music for anyone who would listen.

These places feel like home for many of these singers. Over the years, several artists have gotten into the bar or restaurant game, and for a select few, brands have turned into franchises with several locations and/or concepts — we're looking at you, Jimmy Buffett!

Let's take a look at the country star food and entertainment venues that have opened over the years.
