Make A Splash At The 5 Best Waterparks in Kentucky [VIDEO]
Today is National Water Park Day. Since we're in the dog days of summer, it only seems appropriate to splash around and celebrate by checking out the Top 5 in Kentucky.
KENTUCKY'S 5 BEST WATER PARKS
VENTURE RIVER -EDDYVILLE- If you love slides you're gonna love Venture River. It is only a short drive from the Tri-State area and has 12 slides. The kids can play around at Pleasure Island Kid's Area or you can all relax at Hurricane Bay Wave Pool. Not to mention the water ride, Frog Island, sand volleyball, and large sunning areas.
KENTUCKY SPLASH WATERPARK -WILLIAMSBURG- The Hal Rogers Family Entertainment Center is home to the Kentucky Splash Water Park. The center includes an 18,000 sq. ft. wave pool, a lazy river, a kiddy activity pool plus a triple slide complex, and a double slide tower! Also an 18-hole miniature golf course and an arcade.
There is still time to catch some waves and enjoy the water. They will go to weekends only starting the first weekend in August.
SOMERSPLASH WATER PARKS -SOMERSET-Somerset Splash is celebrating 15 years in business this year and making a big comeback from the pandemic.
According to their Facebook page, they are Kentucky's Best Waterpark, and here's why;
3 Body Slides ( 1 Fully Open, 1 Partially Open, and 1 Fully Enclosed).** A large partially closed and partially open Tube Slide.** A winding lazy river, for all your relaxation needs.**An ENORMOUS 298,000 Gallon Wave Pool, with waves up to 4 feet tall!** Kiddie Play Area for all the young ones with features and interactive attractions within itself.*Double Loop Super Bowl Slide*Speed Slide approximately 40 feet high
BEECH BEND SPLASH LAGOON -BOWLING GREEN- This place is magical. Not only do they have a water park but on the very same property, they have an amusement park too!
It is sandwiched right between Bowling Green and Nashville.
LEITCHFIELD AQUATIC CENTER -LEITCHFIELD- According to their website;
Our aquatic center features a zero-depth entry into our main 217,000-gallon pool. The zero-depth entry also features a large splash and play structure. Our pool’s depth slopes from 3 ft 5 inches to the deepest area (over the diving well) at 11 ft 6 inches. Our center also features two- three-story(one un-covered slide & one covered slide), plunging into the catch pool with a depth of 3 ft 5 inches. One of our most popular attractions is our winding lazy river. You can grab a tube (we provide tubes free of cost) and just let the current take you away.
