Here at WBKR, we are gearing up for our very-first TASTE OF COUNTRY concert, Saturday, September 10th at Ellis Park in Henderson.  We are celebrating the end of summer in style with a big old country shindig!!  By now, you have heard our line-up:  Josh Turner, Josh Thompson, Steve Azar and Glen Templeton!  But we recently decided to give TASTE some local flavor and are proud to announce our brand new opening act for the show!!  Meet STRAIGHT LACED, an Owensboro-based trio of teenagers who rock out some awesome country and bluegrass!

STRAIGHT LACED is comprised of Jenny Beth Willis (lead singer), Emily Wills (fiddle and harmony) and Quinton Pence (guitar and background vocals).

The trio already has a ton of credits of their resume.  They've played the World Equestrian Games, the Lanham Brothers Jamboree, Friday After Five, the annual St. Jude Radiothon and, last year, they were Kentucky State Finalists in the Colgate Country Showdown, where they performed their original song, "Purple Heart."  Check it out!

We are thrilled to have STRAIGHT LACED take the TASTE OF COUNTRY stage at Ellis Park!  If you were at the recent Big O Music Fest, you likely heard lead singer Jenny Beth kick that festival off with her rousing rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner!"  She blew the crowd away!

If you haven't gotten your tickets for TASTE OF COUNTRY, do it today!  General admission tickets (B.Y.O.C.-  bring your own chairs or sit in the Ellis grandstand) are just $25 and are available at www.eventbrite.com and at the WBKR studios!  Plus, we still have a few BEST SEATS IN THE HOUSE available!  For just $100, you truly get the "best" seats in the house (just feet from the front of the stage), plus you get to keep the chair!  Our BEST SEATS are sponsored by Batteries Now!

TASTE OF COUNTRY is presented by WBKR, Henderson Chevy Buick GMC, and Zieg Plastic Surgery Center of Evansville!
