BBQ, Bluegrass & Bloody Marys? Mizkan America Acquires Zing Zang
Last week, we got to play tour guide for the last-minute Viking Cruise visit in Owensboro. They were supposed to travel the Mississippi River, but had to detour because water levels were too high.
The folks on our bus asked great questions as we told them all about what makes Owensboro special. Of course, the BBQ, bourbon, and bluegrass get top billing, but we can also take credit for other popular products that are enjoyed all over the country. One of which is Ragu pasta sauce, which is manufactured at Mizkan.
Mizkan America Products
I read somewhere that the folks at Mizkan pump out about a million jars of pasta sauce a day! That's incredible. Our cruise tourists were pretty impressed to learn that. One of them said, "I made dinner with that right before we left for vacation!" Mizkan also makes Bertolli brand sauces, some Asian sauces, vinegars, cooking wine, and now....drum roll please...
Your favorite Bloody Mary mix!! I honestly don't even know any other Bloody Mary mix brands. Zing Zang also makes other drink mixes for margaritas, daiquiris, etc., and this acquisition is another step in Mikhan's new "Inspired Mixology" line.

Mizkan Owensboro Expansion
Just last March, Governor Beshear announced a massive $156 million expansion at the company with a focus here in Owensboro. This is great news for our local economy and community.
Will Zing Zang Be Manufactured in Owensboro?
No word yet on whether the Zing Zang products will actually be made here at the Owensboro Mizkan location, but I feel like it makes perfect sense. Bourbon, BBQ, Bluegrass, and... Bloody Marys! Plus, with Glenmore around the corner, there could be some fun collaborations, maybe?
What is your favorite way to make a Bloody Mary? Do you like them spicy or with all of the fixins on top?
