Nelly Bringing Saturday Night Dance Party to Evansville, Indiana

This makes me wanna roll my windows down and cruise! Big concert news to share this morning. Nelly is coming to the Old National Events Plaza in Evansville for what's being billed as a big "Saturday night dance party!"

The concert is set for Saturday, November 13th at 8pm.

I remember being backstage at The Grand Ole Opry a few years ago. Actually, it was back in 2012. Jaclyn and I were hanging out with Florida Georgia Line, who had just burst onto the country charts with their debut single "Cruise." The guys asked us if we wanted to hear something. We said, "Sure!" Well, they played us the just remixed version of that song. You know? The version with Nelly. They asked us, "What do you think?" We both said, without flinching, "That's going to be HUGE!"

I said, immediately, "We'll totally play that. Our listeners will love it." As you know, listeners everywhere did. In fact, that remix helped propel the song "Cruise" (and FLG, for that matter) to country music superstardom. "Cruise" is one of the most successful songs in the history of country music.

And though Nelly got his start as a hip hop artist, he has quite a history with country music. Since "Cruise" he's enjoyed some more incredibly successful country collaborations:

"Cool Again" with Kane Brown

"Good Times Roll" with Jimmie Allen

and, of course, another smash with FGL, "Lil Bit."
