She's a screamer indeed! Mary-Katherine Maddox, who's one-half of the WBKR Morning Show in Owensboro, Kentucky, scares really easily. I know this because I am her cohost and I have spent every day in October scaring the crap out of her when she gets to work. I have been hiding in random places in the office and 'surprising' her when she arrives or walks by.

Here are a few of the highlights so far!

Well, last night, another coworker (Heather) and I tricked Mary-Katherine into thinking we were going to visit a haunted house to broadcast live for work. Evansville, Indiana is home to the Old Courthouse Catacombs and The House of Lecter, the latter of which resides on Main Street downtown. We strolled up to the entrance and Phil Wolter, who's been creating haunted attractions for over 40 years, opened the door and let us into his twisted and demented world.

Heather and I worked with Phil to set up our private 'scarefest' for Mary-Katherine. Equipped with my cell phone to record every single jump, scare and scream, we ventured inside!

Now, a quick disclaimer about the video. We made sure not to give away any of the scares, but we did capture Mary-Katherine screaming her head off in the darkness amidst the flickering strobe lights. This is just a taste of what Mary-Katherine sounded like. Notice how, at one point, she invoked country music star Jelly Roll! LOL!

The House of Lecter is open:

Thursday 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Friday 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Saturday 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Sunday 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
The haunt is located at 325 Main Street in Evansville.

LOOK: How Halloween has changed in the past 100 years

Stacker compiled a list of ways that Halloween has changed over the last 100 years, from how we celebrate it on the day to the costumes we wear trick-or-treating. We’ve included events, inventions, and trends that changed the ways that Halloween was celebrated over time. Many of these traditions were phased out over time. But just like fake blood in a carpet, every bit of Halloween’s history left an impression we can see traces of today.
