All the lights and inflatables are decorating more yards than ever before. Traffic is hectic even on a weeknight. As the song says, "it's Christmastime in the city." So let's talk about next September, shall we?

We may only enjoy the Owensboro Air Show one late summer weekend a year, but the organizers are forever busy getting the next one ready for eager fans of this wildly popular event. So don't be surprised when exciting announcements drop at just about any time during the year...announcements like this one, for example:

The U.S. Air Force F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team will join the U.S. Navy Blue Angels at the 2024 Owensboro Air Show! This will be the first time the F-35A Lightning II Demo Team has ever performed at the Owensboro Air Show. Additional performers that will be joining the Blue Angels and the F-35A Lightning II Demo Team at the Owensboro Air Show will be announced in the coming weeks. Mark your calendars: September 13-15! This is a show you won't want to miss.

And it's not like ANYONE said, "Gee, the Air Show is just not exciting enough." Well, "enough" is a relative term in this context. Thank heavens the Owensboro Air Show doesn't include it in its vocabulary when its booking aircraft and flight teams for the big extravaganza.

The U.S. Air Force F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team thrills air show audiences throughout the year. Expect some to all of the following examples to be on display next September 13th through the 15th:

High Alpha Half Cuban -Weapons Bay Doors Pass -Minimum Radius Turn to High Alpha Loop -Pedal Turn -Square Loop -Slow Speed to Power Climb with a Split-S Reposition -Inverted to Inverted Roll -Tactical Pitch.

Here are examples of what will bring folks from all over Kentucky, Indiana, and everywhere else to Owensboro next summer:

And then for that team to join the Blue Angels? I can't wait. I was gonna say, "Make plans now," but I have a hunch you've already done that.
