I can't believe it, but the time is almost here.  Ushering in summertime with the sweet smell of smoke from the pits, BBQ & Barrels is just a couple of weeks away. May 8th and 9th, the streets of downtown Owensboro will be packed with folks ready to enjoy what this little city is known for.

The best bourbon in the world and the most delicious barbecue you will ever taste. With exclusive VIP tasting events and amazing FREE entertainment on the Owensboro Convention Center lawn, this year is going to be the best yet. We can't wait to dance Friday night away with DJ Shay and fangirl over Chase Matthew Saturday night.

The 50/50 Raffle will be bigger than ever, too, with more opportunities to win. There are some pretty fantastic prizes, like some rare and fancy schmancy bottles of bourbon and a staycation at the Owensboro Riverfront Hampton Inn & Suites.

I'm SUPER excited for the very first Artisan Craft Show inside the convention center. Won't it be nice to use that as an excuse to cool off and do a little shopping?

We all know, though, that the reason for the season is the meat. The sides. Strolling with a green cup and waving at friends while continuing your quest for, yes, you guessed it. More meat. Of course, we CANNOT forget about the incredible church cooking teams. We'll be featuring them for you as well, because you already know we have our favorite menu items from each booth! Smoked French fries, anyone? Blessed burgoo, and crispy bologna hot off the griddle, seasoned to high heavens. Mmmmmmmm now I'm hungry! Counting down the days! How about you?
