I can completely understand local and regional interest in the progress of the International Bluegrass Music Center in downtown Owensboro.

Everyone is likely wondering when it will continue after Evansville-based Peyronnin Construction shut down its work on the center after filing for bankruptcy three weeks ago.

Well, we're not the only ones.

After searching "Owensboro bluegrass," I learned that attorney Ed Ray, also the assistant city manager, told the Messenger-Inquirer that he still hopes the center will open in spring or summer of 2018.

And I learned THIS information from, of all places, the Miami Herald.

That's right.

There seems to be enough interest in the center in southern Florida to deem a story about it important to the Herald and its audience.

Miami?...Bluegrass?

Who knew?
