If you're a fan of local baseball, you can see some this weekend.  The Owensboro Bombers are set to take the field against Bowling Green at 11am CST, Saturday, July 11th, in the 3rd Annual Jimmy V Classic.

This year's double-header, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, will actually be played at Huntingburg's League Stadium.

Heading into the game, the Owensboro Bombers 19U team, which features players from seven high schools and colleges around Owensboro, is 6 and 3 on the season and they roll into the Jimmy V Classic off a 3-game sweep of Lyon County.

Last summer, the Bombers hosted Oldham County, Kentucky and raised nearly $2000 for the Kentuckiana Friends of V, which, through the V Foundation, ensures that funds remain in the Commonwealth and are allocated to Cancer Research Centers in Louisville and Lexington.

The minimum suggested donation for Saturday's games is $5.  That donation gains you "free" admission to the double-header.  Fans who would like to donate more are encouraged to do so by making tax deductible checks out to "Kentuckiana Friends of V."

Now, let's play ball and raise some money for an excellent charity in the process.
