Owensboro Burger Week 2025: The Total Numbers, The Top 5 Burgers, The Champions

Owensboro Burger Week 2025 is in the books and, as expected, the fifth year was record-breaking. According to Visit Owensboro's Dave Kirk, over 63,000 hamburgers were served between Friday, March 7th and Saturday, March 15th. By the way, that count is not yet final. There are still five restaurants that need to report their final 'burger' numbers.

Announcing the Winners

Earlier today, officials from Visit Owensboro and Owensboro Burger Week sponsors hit the streets to surprise this year's big winners. They started with the German American Bank People's Choice Award. This is the second year for that award and the second consecutive year that it was claimed by Kim's Diner!

2024 Winner

In 2024, Kim Roberson won that inaugural award and her security cam footage, which captured the moment she realized she was the champion, immediately went viral.

2025 People's Choice Winners

The other Owensboro Burger Week trophy up for grabs each year is the Grand Champion trophy, which is awarded by a panel of judges. Here's a look at the year's Top 5, including the entry that was ultimately chosen as and named The Best Burger in Owensboro.

Third Place: Libertalia

Second Place: Pizza by the Guy

First Place: Kim's Diner

Not only did Kim's Diner bag the People's Choice Award, but their burger cracked the judge's Top 5 as well. Kim's sold 3,648 burgers during 2025 Burger Week and got 25% of the people's choice vote!

According to the Owensboro Burger Week results press release, there was only a one-point difference between first and third place. A blind tasting by a 14-person judging panel gave Nikos a score of 86.28.
