After ten days of magical meaty madness, we finally know who is the official champion of Owensboro Burger Week 2026. We also have the results of the German American Bank People's Choice Award, which is, as stated, chosen by the people!

It might be more coveted than the judge's pick solely because it is the true favorite of the masses. The most popular creation of the bunch. With 59 burgers to choose from, the one that rises to the top really is special. This year, the team that won didn't just create a delicious burger; they leaned into the whole spirit of the event.

The Owensboro Burger Week 2026 People's Choice Winner

From March 5th to March 14th, as you made your way through your burger list, you could be a Burger Week judge too! Thanks to German American Bank for sponsoring the coveted People's Choice trophy. This year, the overall community favorite of Owensboro Burger Week is Libertalia Coffee's Buc-ee Brisket Jam Burger!

Inspired by everyone's favorite beaver and tossing in some local collabs, this burger already had a lot going for it. The idea came from lead barista, Buc-ee's fan and overall awesome human, Joe Zilinski. It absolutely made my Top 3 and was one of my favorite overall experiences of the week. The block party vibes were 10 out of 10 because they went ALL IN on the theme. Here's what it was like:

When you have a chance, watch the videos on Libertalia's social media that document the prep, the chaos, the survival of the fittest! Although storms were a damper mid-week, they honestly needed it to catch up and go on a run for more supplies! On the final day, the plushies were put away, and a sign was posted on the door. "7,354 Bucee burgers sold." Absolutely incredible.

Honestly, as corny as it sounds, it really is true. When it comes to Owensboro Burger Week, we are all winners here (except our cholesterol levels). In a time where folks are divided over so many things, at least we can all come together to celebrate delicious food. It's just a reminder of how important our local restaurants are as well. They are places for us all to gather with old friends and connect with new ones. Let's continue to support these businesses as often as we can, the other weeks of the year!
