This is not a drill friends.  The day has finally arrived you know the one we've all been dreading.  Owensboro's Chick Fil A will close its doors tonight temporarily and we're all panicked.

Angel here and since I started adding chicken back in my diet for more protein I have been truly excited to enjoy Chick Fil A to the very fullest only to have my dreams smashed to the ground as they announced they would not be serving those delicious tender breasts of meat for a time.

They recently announced on their Facebook page a few months ago they would be closing the Owensboro location for some brand new updates.  The renovation will cost close to $1.4 million dollars when it is all finished.  Here's what they had to say about renovations:

We are excited to share that our restaurant will be getting an update! We will close on Thursday, June 3rd at 9 pm to start the process. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for updates on our progress. We are excited to serve the community and will tentatively be re-opening in late July.

At the risk of sounding a little dramatic, I feel like this small shutdown is going to be like its own pandemic only this time we're stuck outside unable to get in and order.

The end result will be beauty and convenience but getting there will the biggest task.  We can do this friends.  I'll see you on the other side of the waffle fries and a diet lemonade with an extra Splenda.

What will you miss most?  Head to the WBKR Facebook page and tell us.
