After a year of uncertainty and virtual learning students in the Owensboro-Daviess County School systems will return full-time next week.  The Family Y is working to help ease the load of working parents.

Many families have had to adapt to the new normal the COVID-19 pandemic brought their way.

The Owensboro Family YMCA will be offering after school starting on Monday, March 22, and running through Thursday, March 27.  They will be partnering with local colleges and universities to provide daily sports and programming activities.

The after-school program is for children ages Kindergarten through 8th grade.   Hours of operation will be from 2:30-6 p.m.

Students are also offered after-school help with homework and given a snack during their time in the program.  Activities for the program range from sports to arts and crafts, free play, swimming, group activities, and much more.

Owensboro Family YMCA will also host the BAR-B-Q 5K on May 8, 2021, in downtown Owensboro.

This race is in conjunction with the 2021 BAR-B-Q Block Party and the community is invited to run or walk with us; to keep crowd sizes to a minimum we will be offering an 8 a.m. start time for competitive racers and a 9 a.m. start geared for non-competitive racers and families.

Registration Pricing:  $35 for Adults - $20 for Children 1-18 (registration will discount at the cart).  T-shirts (on registrations received by April 19th) and official medals will be given to all participants.

The YMCA will host a Couch to 5K event to prepare runners for the Bar-B-Q Fest 5K.
