Owensboro Fire Department Announces Annual Awards

It's time to honor some of our local heroes. And it was the Owensboro Fire Department that handed out those honors Tuesday.

Fire Chief Steve Mitchell made the announcement and we congratulate the following recipients:

Firefighter of the Year   --  Clayton Tuma

Driver/Operator of the Year  --  Andy Owen

Fire Officer of the Year  --  Eric Cart

35 Years of Service  --  Steve Leonard

Merit Awards were given to Lt. Joey Wright, Luke Cecil, Ethan Board, Luke Camp, Lt. Kyle Veach, and Brian Roberts.

And 2018 commendations were issued to Chris York, Patrick Franey, David Spalding, Bobby Grant, Chad Johnson, Richard Peach, Kevin Lanham, Jason Pickrell, Billy Wilson, Tim Priar, James Howard, and Shannon Janosa.

And, on behalf of WBKR, I'd like to personally thank each and every one of these folks and all those who keep us safe in Owensboro, day in and day out!
