Two years ago, Daymon Ward decided to celebrate Halloween by constructing something really cool in the front yard of his Owensboro, Kentucky home. He built a roller coaster and invited the public to come on over for a visit to ride it.

As you can imagine, the coaster was a hit. Not only did it launch its riders into a haunted clown haven, it inspired Daymon to dream bigger and, ultimately, create a diabolical a new Halloween tradition at the Ward's.

This year, Daymon, much to the continuing dismay of his wife Karla (who isn't nearly the fan of Halloween as a her husband), has constructed a full-size haunted house in the front yard. A couple of weeks ago, he sent me a sneak preview photo of the structure. Here's what it looked like on Sunday, September 22nd!

Today, in advance of the big opening night on Friday, October 4th, the 1,000-square-foot haunted house is full of ghouls, goblins and terrifying animatronics.

Here's a look at some of the scares awaiting you inside and outside Deadwood Manor's 11-room haunted house.

For those of you, like me, who are terrified of clowns, you may want to BEWARE! There's a clown room inside Deadwood Manor.

There are also rooms that pay tribute to some of the all-time horror classics like The Exorcist, SAW, and Frankenstein.

**Pro tip. That teddy bear isn't nearly as cute as it seems. Want to know what I mean? You gotta go see it.

And, if you have arachnophobia, your skin's going to crawl in the Spider Room!

Another pro tip. Watch out for eight-legged freaks that leap in the air.

As spooky as Deadwood Manor is during the day, it's going to be epic at night. I don't want to spoil too much, but here's a great shot from inside the haunted house at dark!

This is the Swamp Room.

LOOK: How Halloween has changed in the past 100 years

Stacker compiled a list of ways that Halloween has changed over the last 100 years, from how we celebrate it on the day to the costumes we wear trick-or-treating. We’ve included events, inventions, and trends that changed the ways that Halloween was celebrated over time. Many of these traditions were phased out over time. But just like fake blood in a carpet, every bit of Halloween’s history left an impression we can see traces of today.
