Owensboro Native Ronnie Murray Publishes First Book
When Ronnie Murray and I sat in Ms. Bradshaw's U.S. History class learning about the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire, I would have NEVER guessed we'd both end up where we are today. Ronnie is a deputy jailer at the Daviess County Detention Center, but back in the day? Whew wee! She has LOTS of interesting stories!
I have one story in particular that I will never forget. Unfortunately for you, it is under lock and key, but it is a perfect example of how the mold was broken with Ronnie. I think part of the reason why I have such a special place in my heart for her is that there was once upon a time when I did not feel like I could be my true self. I was weird and looked different than my friends, but I tried to be like everyone else to "belong."
Kinda crazy to think about now after discovering the freedom of living authentically. Ronnie has never known any other way to be, and that was and still is a huge inspiration to me. I mean, who else do you know that will dress up as Steve Harvey and host Family Feud shows? Which was a BLAST by the way.
At the same time, Ronnie has earned high honors for excelling in the workplace. You can read more about that here. Just an overall amazing human who is always there for people who need her, and makes a mean hooch! Oh, the tales she can tell! Which is why I am SO excited for the release of "Stories That Made Me: A Collection of Laughter, Chaos, and Family Moments."
Ronnie's very first book is now available on Amazon. "My goal is to inspire people and remind them to take the time to sit down with their loved ones and tell them stories about their lives." She said, "Give them an opportunity to reflect on stories that shaped them into their current selves."
You can also grab a copy at her upcoming launch party! Ronnie knows how to do it right, y'all, so there will be light refreshments and giveaways galore. One-hour Free Family Feud-hosted event anywhere in Owensboro, gift cards for Starbucks, a free 2-color balloon arch, gift baskets, and more. May 17th from 2-4 PM at the Starbucks on 54. 2710 Heartland Xing. Click here for info. Whether you purchase online or in person, you'll definitely want to get your copy signed!
