Owensboro Residents Meet Figure Skater Scott Hamilton [Photos]

Owensboro residents Suzanne and Joseph Blazar and Shirley and Gary Cecil had an exciting Sunday.  They went to the Tennessee Titans game in Nashville, did a little Tailgating for a Cause and spent some time with figure skater and Olympic gold medalist Scott Hamilton!

Scott Hamilton, who won the Olympic gold medal for figure skating in the 1984 Winter Olympics, was in Nashville promoting the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation, which is "dedicated to changing the future of cancer by funding advanced, innovative research that treats the cancer while sparing the patient."

As a matter of fact, there is a huge CARES fundraiser, the Scott Hamilton and Friends Concert, Sunday night at Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville.  That event blends country music and ice skating and features Scott Hamilton, Sheryl Crow, Darius Rucker, Chris Young, and more.  For tickets and more information, CLICK HERE!

Suzanne says she and her friends chatted with Scott for "some time" yesterday and she's a fan.  She commented, "What a nice guy!"  And what a fun story to share.
