I'm going to put this one down in the "things I didn't know" vault, pile, something like that. The Owensboro Sanitation Department is putting out a reminder about their containers.

Did you know each City container has a unique serial number stamped along with side with the address to which the container is assigned?

Carts DO NOT travel with individuals or businesses if they move to another location in the city. They are leased to the parties using them but they are the property of the City of Owensboro.

Carts/containers can be replaced but they can be repaired at no extra charge, however, if a container is lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair, a replacement will cost $55.00.

So if you see a container that's been blown around by the wind and it's out in the street, make sure you return it to the correct curb.
