Dakota Hayden, an Owensboro teenager with dreams of being a country singer-songwriter, has advanced to the next round of YouTube's popular Shine competition.  His next stop?  General Butler State Park in Carrollton, Kentucky at the end of the month.  Here's what he'll be doing when he gets there.

Dakota auditioned for Shine via video.  Producers and judges of the competition "loved" his video and have officially welcomed him into the next round of competition.  Shine is a singing competition "that challenges talented undiscovered artists to write their own music, build their own brand and sell themselves as the next indie phenomenon."  And, now, Dakota is the mix.

During the next rounds of competition, Dakota, potentially, will participate in a series of challenges: Commercial Camp, a Spotlight Round in which remaining competitors compete head-to-head and The Circle (where contestants get in-studio experience) and, finally, the Lyrical Showdown, which challenges contestants to write a verse and chorus of a song that could go on a debut album.  There's also a Howdy, Partner round and, then, the finale- where Shine judges surrender their power to America!

The current season of Shine is officially underway.  You can subscribe to Brandon TV, follow Dakota's journey, cheer him on and vote for him by CLICKING HERE!
