Owensboro’s Impact 100 Announces Finalists for Thousands of Dollars in Grants
The women of Impact 100 Owensboro have given millions of dollars back to the Owensboro-Daviess community. Today they announced this year's finalists!
WHAT IS IMPACT 100?
Here in Owensboro, the women of Impact 100 are known for their philanthropic drive to make our community a better place through funding different non-profit organizations and their projects that will help impact the entire community in which they live.
In 2005, Marianne Smith Edge and Martha Clark learned about a women’s giving circle that was formed in Cincinnati, Ohio, called Impact100. They realized no other community in the state had a concept like Impact100, where 100 women donate $1,000 each and those combined donations became one transformational $100,000 grant.
Despite Owensboro’s size, they believed women in their community would embrace the idea. They quickly formed their original Board and those women gave Impact100 Owensboro the foundation it needed to flourish. Since its inception, Impact100 Owensboro has empowered a diverse group of local women of all ages, stages in life, income levels, and backgrounds to come together to fund transformational grants in the Greater Owensboro region.
PASSING DOWN THE TRADITION
Impact100 Owensboro Next Generation strives to cultivate a new generation of informed and passionate philanthropists and provide an opportunity for young women to become invested in the Impact100 Owensboro model of transforming lives in the Greater Owensboro area through high-impact and lifelong giving.
The organization's Girls High School Impact called NextGen will also award a scholarship.
