People’s Choice Awards!

So, Carrie Underwood is nominated as Favorite Female Artist, but to win she'll have to beat Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and P!nk!  My prediction:  Lady Gaga doesn't stand a chance.  She has a massive following, but my hunch is that her faithful fans are too "cool" to vote.  I mean, come on!  Lady Gaga fans (and I am one of them) worship a woman who wore a dress made of meat!  Katy Perry had one of the best songs of 2010, but she married that sleaze-ball Russell Brand!  I am a huge P!nk fan and I know a bunch of them, but she is the least popular of the five.  So, I think the race comes down to a duel between Carrie and Taylor.  It's a toss up, but I think Taylor will be the People's Choice.  She had an unbelievable 2010.

Now, Tim McGraw finds himself nominated for Favorite Male Artist and will compete against Eminem, Enrique Iglesias, Michael Buble, and Usher.  And, you know what?  I think he can win.  Enrique had just one hit to speak of.  Michael Buble is popular, but not with the age-range that is prone to taking the time to vote.  Eminem had a really strong year, but I think that being the unanimous choice of the people undermines one's street cred.  Usher will have the support of his fans AND all the teenage girls who love him because he helped make Justin Bieber a star!  But, I think our boy Tim has an awesome shot at the win.  But if he wins, it won't necessarily be because of his music.  Tim's venture into Hollywood has made him an even more recognizable face and name.

Then, check out the horse race that is the Favorite Country Artist category.  Oddly, Tim McGraw isn't nominated (that doesn't make any sense, does it?).  But Carrie, Taylor, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, and Rascal Flatts are.  Wanna pick a winner?  Not me!  I think the favorites are Carrie, Taylor and Lady A . . . but I have NO CLUE who is going to win.
