The nominees are in and it's now time to cast your votes!

On Friday morning, Angel and I decided to ask for nominations and our Facebook community and listeners came through in a big way. We got lots of nominees for gas stations and truck stops across the tristate. Our goal? To find out which local gas station or truck stop has the absolute best food.

The poll was inspired by my personal favorite truck stop ever. Have you ever driven I-40 between Nashville and Memphis? Right around the halfway point, you'll encounter the North 40 Truck Stop, which is freaking awesome! Not only does this place have phenomenal food (its own restaurant), but it has an incredible gift shop, massage options, a chapel, a TV room, showers, multiple restrooms and it even used to house the North 40 Corral, which was a clothing section full of classic western wear. If you ever get the chance to stop there, DO IT!

Here's video from a stop a few years ago.

Truck stops can be a blast!  And, they can be delicious too.  I don't have any video of North 40's restaurant, but, if you visit, you'll see it on the right hand side as you walk in. Trust me. Try it!

And, if our batch of nominees are proof of anything, there are plenty of places around western Kentucky and southern Indiana that you need to stop at too.

Here are just some examples of the incredibly high praise and recommendations we got on our Facebook page when we posed our question. And, as you'll see, the various nominees are recognized for all sorts of specialties!

Well, that's just a sample of the responses we received via Facebook.  We also had a variety of callers in the studio and they shared their nominees as well.

Now that we've got 'em, it's time to cast YOUR vote!!  And, if your personal favorite gas station of truck stop food isn't listed in the official poll, make sure you vote "Other" and let us know who it is and why.
