Of all the things I might have expected to see in the news, really, at any given point in time, a tiger on the loose in Knoxville, Tennessee was NOT on my radar.

Some reports have just said "tiger." Others have said "tiger cub." Still others are saying "young tiger."

And one source--Knox News--is even wondering if the tiger actually exists, despite the fact that there have been multiple calls from people who say they have seen a tiger. On the other hand, there have been no photos taken of said tiger.

I have one, but, for heaven's sake, don't show anyone in Knoxville. I took it at the Louisville Zoo a few years ago. She's a Siberian and was very restless. When she got to her perch and laid down, she growled at me. I mean she was several yards away from me and we were separated by a big trench, so all was good. But she was agitated.

So what's going on in Knoxville? I mean, it's hardly the first city that leaps to mind when you hear that a tiger is on the loose. I'd imagine NO city in this country would.

And if it really is out there roaming around, where did it come from? The Knoxville Zoo says their tigers are all accounted for.

Is it some residual Tiger King mania because everyone who wanted to watch it has already zipped through all the episodes and is jonesing for more?

Or is it really a tiger and is very good at not getting caught? The Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency has stopped worrying about it and will respond to any and all tiger calls if they come in.

So, 2020, what's next?
