One of the best parts of the Christmas season is watching festive movies with the family. We have some traditions surrounding several of them. When we put up the tree, we always watch Muppet Family Christmas. On Christmas Day, like a lot of you, we watch A Christmas Story.

Christmas Movies Teach the Meaning of Christmas

Other than the music, the decorations, and often the humor, I love that Holiday films always have some kind of lesson about the spirit of the season. It is about generosity and helping those in need plus spending special time with friends and family. Moments of joy and gratitude and even a little "magic."

When Are Free Christmas Movies Showing at the Riverpark Center?

Friday, December 20, 2024, at 7:00 PM, enjoy the hijinks of the Griswold family in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 6:00 PM, MORE HIJINKS with Buddy and the other hilarious characters in Elf. Before the movie on Saturday, Santa will be there for photos, and the first 200 kiddos will have fun with a special Christmas craft.
Both movies will be shown in Cannon Hall with popcorn, candy, and drinks sold in the lobby before they begin each night. Make it a whole evening of festive fun and take a walk along the river to see the amazing lights. If your crew is grown-ups only, you should definitely hit up Peppermint's, the Christmas-themed pop-up bar where the Ghostlight used to be.
