Here’s Your Sign to Visit Rockport’s Holiday Drive-In Before They Close for the Season
I LOVE going to the drive-in. I remember going with my dad all the time when I was a kid. We would load up his truck with blankets and pillows, make sure we had batteries for the boombox, plenty of bug spray, and head on over the blue bridge to Rockport.
One time, I was too tired to make it through the second movie and fell asleep in my beanbag chair in the back of the truck. I woke up with the cold wind whipping my hair as he was driving us back to Owensboro!! I don't remember my mother finding out about that little adventure, but I don't know that she would have been too happy. I know I sure wasn't. His response to me fussing at him? "Oh hush, you're still in one piece!"
It's a funny memory now along with all of the trips to Holiday Drive-In with friends and family over the years. If you grew up in this area, I know you have lots of those too! We are certainly lucky to still have a Drive-In movie theatre so close. If you haven't been yet this season, consider this your sign while you still have time! There are two more weekends left to enjoy a "double feature" and some good grub from the concession stand.
Plus! A classic scary movie is playing this weekend on the number one screen! One of the best slasher flicks of all time, the original 1978 Halloween.
You can also see some other great new horror and thriller films on the other screens including M. Night Shyamalan's Trap, Quiet Place Day One, and Smile 2 (the first one was horrifying!) Terrifier 3 is also screening which I have heard is absolutely insane. I've seen the first one and it was reaaaaaally gory, but overall an entertaining slasher movie. If the goal is to scare you, it does the trick! Art the Clown rivals Pennywise as the worst villain in movie history for me, personally. That grin is spine-tingling.
Here's the screen line-up for this weekend:
