While ROMP fans are listening to live music, shopping with the vendors, and eating at food trucks, younger bluegrass fans will again get the opportunity to hang out at the ROMP Kids Zone!

Local educator Erinn Williams is spending her seventh year as the facilitator and she says it will again be the "highlight" of her summer. There's no doubt that it's a highlight for the kids as well.
Here's this year's three-day schedule of activities!
ROMP KIDS ZONE SCHEDULE 2025
ROMP Kids Zone is open to kids 12 and under and it's absolutely FREE with admission into the festival. Erinn says, "Each year, I try to bring a little something different. I strive very hard to be inclusive, mindful, and intentional when planning crafts and activities for our smallest festival friends and consider it an honor doing so!"
Some of the most notable and memorable workshops include an instrument petting zoo, a 'groovy' sound bath, a yoga workshop for kids, and a harmonica workshop sponsored by Hohner. In that particular event, each participant receives their own harmonica to play!
Of course, Erinn's personal favorite activity involves her dad, who travels five hours from the heart of Appalachia to conduct a "Build Your Own Banjo" workshop.
Erinn says, "Kiddos are treated to a live demo and then get to construct their own instrument out of kid-friendly materials." In 2024, there were over 75 banjos constructed in that workshop alone.
