Scott County Schools Graduates to Receive Full Tuition to Georgetown College
The Scott County High School and Great Crossing High School graduating classes of 2020 received some amazing news Monday. All Scott County Students admitted to Georgetown College during the next ten years will receive Legacy and Legends scholarships.
A Legacy and Legends scholarship is worth $160,000 thus the cost of a four-year education at the private college.
Any newly admitted, full-time Georgetown college student who graduated from a Scott County high school after attending their senior year, or who lived in Scott County for at least one year will receive the new scholarship to cover the cost of all classes.
Students will first have to meet entrance requirements and only first-time freshmen will be eligible in the fall of 2020. Any additional scholarships earned can be stacked on top of the Legacy and Legends scholarship to be counted towards room and board and other fees like for books and supplies.
Current Georgetown College students from Scott County are not eligible for the Legacy and Legends scholarship. The private college has about 960 undergraduate students and nearly 650 graduate students.
College officials say donations from alumni and others will be used to fund the new scholarship.
The Legacy and Legends scholarship will be up for renewal in 2030.
