The Broadway Series at the RiverPark Center in downtown Owensboro, Kentucky is about to get a big dose of Christmas magic from a country music and pop culture icon. Dolly Parton's Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol is set to take the stage in the middle of November.

The cast of show is coming into town to build the show and the premiere performance will take place inside Cannon Hall at the RiverPark on Saturday, November 15th. Here's a sneak preview of what you can expect from this new twist on Charles Dickens' beloved A Christmas Carol.

According to the RiverPark Center website, Dolly Parton's Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol is 'set in the 1930s in the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. The unforgettable production and amazing cast imagines Ebenezer Scrooge as the owner of a mining company town, where his callous greed blinds him to the joys and gifts of the season. As a Christmas Eve snowstorm approaches, Scrooge is visited by his deceased business partner and three ghosts who compel him to see life anew and discover that love is the greatest gift we have.'

WBKR morning show personality Mary-Katherine Maddox had the opportunity to chat with Ken Orman, the actor who plays Scrooge in the show. To no one's surprise, he says getting the chance to play Scrooge AND sing Dolly Parton's music at the same time is a 'dream!'
