A Hazardous Weather Outlook from the National Weather Service says we could see a "minor winter weather event" late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.  Among the possibilities . . . accumulations of snow and ice.  Here's what we know so far!

From the National Weather Service:

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN ILLINOIS...SOUTHWEST INDIANA...WESTERN KENTUCKY AND SOUTHEAST MISSOURI. DAY ONE...

THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT WIND CHILL READINGS LATE TONIGHT WILL BE IN THE NEGATIVE DIGITS ACROSS ALL BUT FAR SOUTHERN MISSOURI...WHERE THEY`LL BE CLOSE TO ZERO.

DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY THERE REMAINS THE POTENTIAL FOR A MINOR WINTER WEATHER EVENT LATE TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING. THOUGH SOME SNOW AND ICE ACCUMULATIONS ARE POSSIBLE...QUITE A BIT OF UNCERTAINTY REMAINS AS TO THE IMPACTS OF THIS SYSTEM AND WHERE THEY WILL OCCUR. ANOTHER CHANCE OF WINTRY WEATHER IS FORECAST THURSDAY INTO FRIDAY.

AccuWeather is being a little more bold in its predictions.  In fact, a look at the Wednesday forecast shows HEAVY snow forecast and relatively significant accumulations.

The Weather Channel's forecast is a little more friendly, though snow accumulations appear to be possible according to their models as well . . .

So, it appears there's a potential winter weather event brewing here in the tristate.  But, it's obvious it's going to take some more time to determine just what kind of winter blast the storm will bring.
