For more than a decade, WBKR Yard Parties have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for nonprofits across the tristate while bringing attention to causes that matter in our community. This week’s Yard Party, sponsored by Rhoads & Rhoads, will benefit Owensboro Elite Special Olympics Kentucky, and you’re invited to grab a meal, support a great mission, and be part of the fun!

Another WBKR Yard Party is almost here, and we’d love to see you Friday!

Join us this Friday, June 12th, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at 3301 Frederica Street in Owensboro for a Hamburger/Hot Dog Lunch Fundraiser benefiting Owensboro Elite Special Olympics Kentucky.

For just $5, you'll get a hot dog plate lunch that includes a hot dog, chips, a drink, and dessert. Or, a hamburger plate for $7. They'll be serving until everything is gone, so getting there early is always a good idea!

Want to skip the wait? Pre-order your lunch now. And if you're feeding a crew, they’ve got you covered! Delivery is available for businesses ordering five or more meals, making it easy to treat your office or team while supporting a great cause.

We’ve also got tickets up for grabs to see Koe Wetzel on The Night Champion World Tour at the Ford Center in Evansville on August 7, 2026. Stop by, grab lunch, and get registered for your chance to win!

Owensboro will once again welcome the Special Olympics Kentucky State Softball Tournament September 11th-13th at Jack C. Fisher Park.

The three-day event will bring nearly 600 athletes and coaches from across the state, with 40 teams competing for gold. Several Owensboro-Daviess County teams are expected to qualify, and some of our local athletes will be looking to defend the state championships they won last year.
