New Starbucks Coming to Downtown Owensboro Hampton Inn & Suites
The Hampton Inn & Suites in downtown Owensboro has been a leader in local development since it was built. Some of y'all may not know this, but I proudly worked for BryantCorp before hopping behind the mic here at the station. They are huge supporters of the community, and a wonderful welcome and example of our hospitality to visitors.
Today, the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation made an exciting announcement! The hotel will soon welcome...drum roll please...A STARBUCKS COFFEE. In the hotel, but open to the public. This is gonna be a game-changer for folks who work, live, play, and everything in between while they are down there.
It will be located in the former Out of the Blue bourbon shop. We don't have an official opening date yet, but it looks like possibly this Summer? In the press release, my friend and GM Sharon NeSmith shared her excitement,
"A thriving downtown Owensboro requires continued reinvestment, and we need to play our part in that process just like the City and other private developers are doing every day,” shared hotel General Manager Sharon NeSmith. “Starbucks’ consistently high-quality service speaks for itself and aligns with the guest service we strive to deliver at the Hampton Inn & Suites.”
One of the highlights of staying at the Hampton is that it is close enough to walk to venues like The Owensboro Convention Center or the new Bluegrass Fieldhouse, projected to open in June of this year. Folks wander down to restaurants, and businesses close by.
As long as everyone still supports the established coffee shops (Le Creme, Kahawa Java, Gramps, etc.) and they will, I know they will, I can definitely get excited about the 'bucks. It will be a convenient option for people who want to grab a quick cup of coffee or a cake pop before hitting the road.
As Claude Bacon, President & CEO of the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation, said in a social media post, “Projects like this reflect the confidence private developers have in our downtown and its long-term momentum. Recognizable brands often serve as signals of market confidence, and continued local investment from companies like BryantCorp demonstrates a long-term commitment to downtown that benefits residents, workers, visitors, and neighboring businesses alike.”
