In a decade that started with Duke winning the NCAA title over Butler, remember when Gordon Hayward almost spoiled the party with possible game-winning three? and ended with Virginia winning its first-ever championship, one team reigned above the rest: the 2011-2012 Kentucky Wildcats.

The news of the Louisville Men's Basketball team being mightily reprimanded earlier this week still has fans down, however, the 2013 national championship banner, which was taken down almost immediately, has found a new life.

This is a tough one. As much as I think Louisville deserves some punishment for all of the goings on with former coach Rick Pitino and former Athletic Director Tom Jurich, this looks very bad.

Believe it or not, the NCAA has released an early bracket of this year's Men's Basketball Tournament. Why? I think it's to help folks like me when filling out brackets and it gives the public a look at the "teams to watch" a month from now.

Back in February, the University of Kentucky had a great big celebration in honor of head basketball coach John Calipari's 500th victory. Confetti, a big cake, pin the tail on the donkey--you know, the works! Everybody had a very good time...except the NCAA. Because in their eyes--and according to their official records--John Calipari does NOT own 500 victories.

In my 13 years here at WBKR, I have acquired quite a reputation for doing very well in the NCAA Tournament pool.  I have won the jackpot a couple of times and am almost always a force in the final weekend of action.  But, as the old saying goes, all good things must come to an end . . . and my run most certainly has!
