I'd say we've come full circle with the Bucket List series except we're hardly done. You see, the series BEGAN at the Island Dairy Freeze. And now, we're back in Island and just up the road.
The voyage through my Owensboro Bucket List continues out on Highway 54 in Philpot, so, technically, it's not in Owensboro. But I'll call it "close enough."
First of all, Lake Malone, right? It's one of the most beautiful lakes in western Kentucky...and maybe the whole state but I haven't been to every lake in the whole state. But I'd still put money on Lake Malone being in the top 5.
As the Owensboro Bucket List continues, we venture out onto East 4th/former U.S. 60 East/newly-minted Highway 144 to a legendary hangout...Wyndall's Wonder Whip.
I can't remember exactly how Andria's Candies came up in conversation recently, but I'm glad it happened when it happened. With Valentine's Day just a couple of days away, it's the perfect time to put this Owensboro institution on my bucket list.
Okay, so I understand the term "Nashville bucket list" could bring to mind a bucket the size of the Grand Canyon considering all there is to do and see in Nashville. Got that.
For many who will see this, I'm preaching to the choir when I rave about The Big Dipper, one of the most popular businesses in all of Daviess County, and maybe western Kentucky. (I have good friends who don't live here who never miss an opportunity to go to the Dipper when they're in town.)
I've had a lot of fun taking you through some of the locations I consider essential to anyone in Owensboro who has never visited them. Certainly Reid's Orchard must be on this list.
