Was Taylor Sheridan Researching Horse Racing At The KY Derby?
One of my favorite parts of the Kentucky Derby is seeing what celebrities come to town for the big race. I went to college at the University of Louisville, and one year, the first weekend in May, a friend and I hung out at the airport to people watch. I still look to see who shows up for the big event.
As I was looking through photos from Churchill Downs, I spotted the mayor of Louisville, Craig Greenberg. Obviously not a shocker, but I WAS surprised to see a certain man standing next to him.
The serious man in the cowboy hat is none other than Taylor Sheridan. Producer extraordinaire and creator of hit TV series like Yellowstone and Landman. He even has a new reality TV show coming out with Blake Shelton and Keith Urban called The Road. A gritty look at what life is like on tour, where aspiring artists compete to see who has what it takes.
However, my imagination is churning about why Sheridan was hanging with the mayor at the Derby all day. I immediately started wondering, "Is he doing research? What if he is planning his next series all about horse racing?" There would be no better place for it to be set than the Bluegrass State.
Feuding horse owners, trainers talking smack, jockey drama, railbirds doing shady stuff with Mint Juleps in hand, and epic banjo battles. It could totally work! Or maybe Sheridan is just a lover of horse racing and happens to be buddies with Mayor Greenberg. A Kentucky girl can dream, though! Taylor, call me if you need story ideas!

What about you? Would you love to see a show based on the most exciting two minutes in sports?
