Tonight is the perfect night to begin "Walking In A Winter Wonderland" as The RiverPark Center hosts free ice skating for all ages tonight from 3 to 9pm. There are quite a lot of frosty cool things to do as the holiday season kicks into high gear with only 12 days left until Christmas Day.

The RiverPark Center hosts "Winter Wonderland" every year and I never miss it. Every Monday until the New year holiday you can ice skate for free with varying times according to local school holiday break times. Check out their website for more info http://riverparkcenter.com/.

I, for one, love the twinkling lights that criss cross both businesses and glowing warm homes alike. If you're like me and love to see lights this time of year than there is no better place in Owensboro than Legion Park located just off J.R. Miller Blvd. They even decorated the flower and the dragon in the water play area of the park and they look super cool.

Now if you really want to pump up your Christmas mojo to it's maximum level than try giving. That's right giving and being thankful for the gifts we receive are the true meaning of the season sooo..... why not.  There are a number of organizations that help families in need locally but we here at the Country Station WBKR are partial to Christmas Wish. Christmas Wish is especially in need this year. More than 900 letters have already been received and volunteers and cash are number one on the needs list. Toys, food, canned food, diapers, and most especially cash. You can also adopt a family by stopping at the office at Towne Square Mall and perusing the available letters. The Christmas wish office phone number is 685-9452, and of course there is a link right here on the WBKR web page. Show a family in need the true meaning of Christmas by making sure that every child gets a visit from Santa Claus this year.
