The Old Kentucky Home Stretch

It's the first jewel in the Triple Crown (which, by the way, hasn't been won in 33 years--what gives?), and it's happening Saturday. The 137th running of the Kentucky Derby and historic Churchill Downs.

The mint juleps will be flowing and we'll all see some of the most outrageous hats we've seen in, well, a week, since the Royal Wedding. But at least Derby hats LOOK like hats. One of my best friends used to make it a tradition to hang out in the infield for the Derby. But he was a lot younger back then. I was never quite sure I had the courage for the infield; now, I know I don't. But whatever your plans are if you are attending the most exciting 2 minutes in sports, please be safe, and please have an incredible time. You'll likely never forget it.
