UK Assistant Coach’s Daughter Has Cancer, Needs New Liver
A member of the University of Kentucky family is going through a rough ordeal. UK assistant coach John Robic's daughter, Hayley, has been diagnosed with liver cancer and needs a transplant.
Kentucky head coach John Calipari tweeted an impassioned plea over the weekend:
Having zero medical training, I was surprised to learn how a liver transplant works. You just take a portion of another person's liver--which will grow back (had no idea)--and give it the person in need.
The website, UPMC Transplant Services, has more information about how to become a donor.
