The 2017-2018 Kentucky basketball schedule may already be known to much of Big Blue Nation. But now we have TV times and locations.

While UK still has five games--against Utah Valley, East Tennessee State, Troy, Fort Wayne, and Illinois-Chicago--that have yet to have times and locations attached to them, the rest of the schedule is set.

Once we get past exhibition games, the Wildcats will have 13, possibly 15, games televised on ESPN. Well, 13 or 15 IF the 'Cats make it to the SEC Tournament finals.

Another three, possibly five, will be on ESPN2 with five more airing on CBS--three conference tilts against Missouri, Alabama, and Florida as well as non-conference marquee match-ups against UCLA and Louisville.

The remainder of the games will air on the SEC Network, including the majority of conference tournament games.

Looking at the schedule, I see, in addition to the ones mentioned above, some tough contests against Kansas in Chicago and at West Virginia.

For a freshman-laden squad, those won't be easy.

Additionally, unless you're a hardcore college basketball nut (like myself), you may not realize how tricky games against Vermont and Harvard might be, even IN Rupp Arena.

Those are well-coached veteran teams and although they can't match the pure talent Kentucky will put on the floor, there's something to be said for a good ENOUGH team with a lot of experience.

I actually find those games among the more interesting on UK's schedule.

But, I got sidetracked.
