What’s Cookin’? Katie Rudy’s Beef Stew [Recipe]
This week in What's Cookin'?, Katie Rudy joins us for the first time. She's sharing a recipe that's been in her family for decades! It's a delicious recipe for Beef Stew. Here's how to make it.
KATIE RUDY'S BEEF STEW
2 lb stew meat
3 or 4 carrots
1 large rib celery
1 medium onion
3 or 4 potatoes
1/3 green pepper
2cups tomato juice
Directions:
Cut everything small except potatoes and carrots, add 1tbsp sugar,1 tsp salt, 2 tbsp cornstarch and pepper to taste. Cover and cook 5 hours at 250 degrees or in crock pot on low 5 or 6 hours or longer.
**According to Katie, this recipe does not tell you to brown your stew meat first, but she usually does. And, as an added tip, Katie says beef from Hillview Farms Meats is the absolute BEST to use.
What's Cookin'? is sponsored each week by Murphy Appliance Company on New Hartford Road here in Owensboro.
