Five local celebrities will partner with local dancers to perform and raise money for the Boulware Mission in Owensboro. Who will win the coveted mirrorball trophy this season? We'll take to the dance floor to find out! There are still a handful of tickets remaining.

2023 DANCING WITH OUR STARS OWENSBORO-STYLE

Old National Bank presents Dancing with our Stars Owensboro-Style to benefit Boulware Mission will take place on Saturday, August 5th, 2023 at the Owensboro Convention Center. Everyone is invited for a fun-filled evening, as five local celebrities and their partners perform for the coveted mirror ball trophy! It's SO much fun. Get your tickets today.

Doors will open at five o'clock and the sit-down dinner will be served at six o'clock. The dance competition will begin after dinner. Semi-formal attire is requested, but not required.

WHAT IS THE BOULWARE MISSION?

Our mission is to help displaced individuals become self-sufficient through treatment, education, and services. Our focus is on recovery from the root causes that brought our clients to Boulware in the first place.

Our goal is to see each of our clients become self-sufficient. We do this by identifying and alleviating contributing factors to their situation.

The Boulware Mission was the winner of the 2017 Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce Nonprofit of the Year Award.

Voting is very important in this competition! It allows you to support your favorite celebrity couple. Voting costs just $1, and all donations are tax-deductible. 501(c) nonprofit Tax ID 61-0486968. All money raised benefits Boulware Mission.

People's choice votes count 50% towards each couple's overall score. The couple with the highest combined total of judges' points and people's choices votes will be this year's mirror-ball champions.

"Chris is a 2002 graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School. A year after graduating, he married his High School sweetheart, Jenny Riley Burns. In 2005, he began his law enforcement career at the Russellville Police Department. In August of 2008, Chris accepted a position with the Owensboro Police Department where he was able to work alongside his Dad for a few years. In 2015, he was promoted to Sergeant in the patrol division. In 2022, he was promoted to Lieutenant and is currently assigned to the support services division.

Chris and Jenny have 3 children, a daughter, Abby, a son, Christopher, and a daughter, Payton. Some of his greatest memories include being able to coach them in various sports when they were younger. Chris is a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, where he enjoys participating in chicken and burgoo cooks, as well as Shop with a Cop which takes place in December. In 2015, Chris received the honor of being named a Kentucky Colonel for his dedication, commitment, and service to our community. Chris and his family live on a small farm in Daviess County where he enjoys being on his tractor, tending to his garden, and caring for his chickens and a miniature donkey, Sadie. But what he enjoys the most is watching his daughters cheer and his son plays football and baseball for Owensboro Catholic High School. Chris and his family attend St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church."

"Abby is the daughter of Chris and Jenny Burns. She is a recent graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School, class of 2023. While attending OCHS, she was a varsity cheerleader for 4 years. Two of those years she served as cheer captain and was named to the UCA All-American Cheerleading Squad. She was a member of the FFA (Future Farmers of America) for 4 years, as well as S.C.R.U.B.S. (Students Creating Respect Using Better Solutions). She was selected to serve on the Leadership Committee, the Legacy Committee, and the Reach More Group during her senior year. She was honored as the female recipient of Catholic High for the Noon Optimist Award. Also, while attending high school, Abby took classes at OCTC and obtained her CNA (Certified Nurse’s Assistant) certificate. Abby received a cheerleading scholarship to attend Brescia University where she will study Pre-Nursing in the fall.

Abby is a two-time participant in the Lip Sync Battle benefiting Puzzle Pieces, where she has the pleasure of competing alongside her Mom, Sister, and the Owensboro Police Department wives. For several years, Abby has volunteered with the Shop with a Cop program. For the past 6 years, Abby has been taking clogging lessons from Barry Lanham and has appeared in several Lanham Brothers Jamborees, but her favorite thing is when they visit local nursing homes to perform for the residents. Abby and her family are members of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. In her spare time, she enjoys helping out on the family farm, spending time with her beagle, Waylon, watching her brother Christopher play football and baseball, cheering with her sister Payton, and reading…a lot!"

"Grae Greer is the Adjunct Theatre Professor at Owensboro Community & Technical College. She is deeply passionate about the connection between human development and the arts, as well as breaking the barrier that "imagination is only for kids". She created Bluegrass Community Theatre in 2018, where she has the opportunity to connect, develop, nurture, and advocate for theatre people of all ages, at all levels and abilities. Greer is also the Director of Marketing for RiverPark Center, a cohort member of the Kentucky Rural-Urban Exchange, on the festival committee for the Multicultural Festival, a board member for the Kentucky Thespian Association, and heavily involved in the performing arts in Owensboro (RiverPark Center, Encore Musicals, and Owensboro Museum of History & Science). When she's not in the classroom, community, or onstage, she's working with students virtually to prepare for college and professional auditions and improve their craft for acting & creating."

"Partner Parker Medley is a brand new tattoo artist located at the Asylum Tattoo and art gallery. Parker is active in the Owensboro theatre community and is a commission-based portrait artist. He has been sighted multiple times “busting a move” on many wedding reception dance floors, and has been described as “having the moves in him” so he is no stranger to the world of dance. To the people watching, he would like them to know that he is an avid oatmeal connoisseur and that even though times can be on the rougher side, that pain is temporary, but swag is forever."

"Denise Jarboe is an Owensboro realtor who also serves southern Indiana. She’s an Owensboro Catholic and Brescia University alumni as well as an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Owensboro. Denise is married to Christopher and has five daughters Jacy, Izzy, Dani, Millie, and Savvy and they live in southern Indiana. Denise’s passion is helping people achieve their dream of homeownership with as little stress as possible."

"Partner Lee Upton is an insurance agent for Kentucky Farm Bureau on Highway 144. He began servicing the members of Daviess County in 2017 and takes pride in working in his community. When he is not writing policies, you can find him participating in fundraisers for organizations and finding ways to give back to the people of Daviess County. Lee is married to his wonderful wife Ashley and has three kids- Teagan, Caidence, and Easton. Lee has the motto “When you see me I don’t want you to think of insurance, but when you think of insurance I want you to think of me”.

"Meet Rachelle, your friendly local REALTOR®️ and proud mother of two, Jayden (19) and Keeli (17). Rachelle enjoys living an active lifestyle and can often be found exercising, running, and playing golf with her boyfriend Maverick during her free time. Her passion for fitness has led her to complete 12 half marathons and 2 full marathons, as well as participate in more than a dozen 5k races.

When she isn't working or exercising, Rachelle loves spending time with her furry friends, which include two dogs and a cat. She also has a strong passion for traveling and exploring new places, whether it's hiking a mountain, an all-inclusive beach trip, or a cross-country road trip!

With her energetic and adventurous spirit, she is dedicated to helping others. Rachelle serves on the Board of The Greater Realtor Association and volunteers as the chair for the Public relations committee.

Rachelle strives to make Owensboro a place everyone will be proud to call home."

"Keeli Johnson is a 17-year-old senior at Daviess County High School, where she maintains a stellar 3.8 GPA. As a seasoned cheerleader since the age of 5, Keeli's passion for cheerleading has led her team to a state championship victory last year and a 4th place finish at nationals. Aside from her love for cheerleading, Keeli is an avid dog lover and has two golden retrievers, Bonnie and Pearl, who she adores. Her dream job is to be a travel blogger and explore the world's most beautiful beaches. Keeli's biggest supporter is her mom, and it was an honor for her to dance with her this year."

"Nicolas Bustamante is employed as a Relationship Banker with Old National Bank and is an enthusiastic business professional with a passion for the financial industry. Nico holds an education in General Occupational Technical Studies and made the decision in later adulthood to begin pursuit of his Bachelor of Science Business Administration in Accounting degree. The oldest son in an immigrant family, Nico has worked with tenacious dedication throughout his adult life and finds special meaning in serving the non-English speaking, the underprivileged, and the underdogs of the Owensboro community. Mr. Bustamante could also be called “Mr. Smiles,” as anyone who has come into contact with him knows that he has never met a stranger and goes out of his way to extend a helping hand to anyone who needs it. While he has friends and contacts in cities all over the United States, you can most often find him here in Owensboro, volunteering at Girls Inc., teaching Junior Achievement, co-chairing TODOS Western Kentucky-Southern Indiana Chapter, and being an active member of the Chamber of Young Professionals. He loves his city and the city of Owensboro loves him!"

"Kristen Bustamante is a health and business professional with a passion for comprehensive wellness. Kristen began her professional career as a registered nurse, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Louisville. Over the years, she has found her true passion in medical consulting, having earned her Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management as well as certifications in Leadership and Six Sigma in 2021. She is employed with UnitedHealthcare as a Clinical Program Analyst and is dedicated to the ideal of perfecting access to care. Though her career keeps her on the move, Kristen’s heart remains with the city of Owensboro, where she loves spending time with her family and fur babies."
