A good friend of mine once told me that one of his favorite phrases was "breakfast served anytime." He and I were and are in agreement on that one. A smile lights up my face if I see it at the top of any menu. It's one of the reasons I miss having a Waffle House in town so much.

It's also one of the reasons I choose Waffle House over many other options when traveling sometimes.

But soon--hopefully--I'll have other choices for "breakfast after breakfast time" jones. Nothing against Waffle House, of course, but I have long wanted to plant my butt on a chair at Wild Eggs, and that opportunity might present itself before too long.

Wild Eggs -- Breakfast Brunch Lunch

As the name indicates, breakfast IS served anytime, as long as it's BY lunchtime. But Wild Eggs fans know the drill and keep coming back. Last fall, New Albany IN fans got their wish.

That makes SEVEN Wild Eggs locations in the Louisville metropolitan area. (There's a location in Jeffersonville IN.) There are also two in Lexington and one in Bowling Green.

When you take a look at the Wild Eggs menu, you'll see an array of mouthwatering breakfast dishes kicked up several notches. Delicious-looking twists on Eggs Benedict, breakfast burritos, omelets (you can build your own), waffles, even oatmeal and the Kentucky Hot Brown.

Soon, four more locations will open in Lexington, and I've gone ahead and crossed my fingers for a more widespread expansion in the years to come. In the meantime, I'm certainly not above gassing up the jalopy and finding the nearest Wild Eggs and then stressing out over which delectable menu item I'll try first.
