Daviess County Firefighters Raise Money for Christmas Wish

The Daviess County Fire Department hosted a golf scramble, as they do every year to raise money for those less fortunate in the community. Even though fundraising hasn't been easy during the pandemic, these heroes found a way to make it happen. Here's the interview, and video, from the check presentation that happened on Wednesday.

The Daviess County Fire Department has been a major Christmas Wish supporter every year. We know that we can always count on them to make dreams come true for area children!

This year was no exception. I was so excited when they walked though the door at the Christmas Wish Office. I was even more excited when they presented the check for the 2020 season. A check written for $9000 to help those in need this holiday season. How incredible is that, and it set a fundraising record! We are so grateful for all that these brave men and women do all year long to support the mission. There wasn't a dry eye in the house at the Christmas Wish Headquarters when the donation was presented. It was just incredible.

This scramble was a great success due to a great deal of hard work from all our community partners and our fire department members and their families. Your continued support of this endeavor is greatly appreciated, whether you gave items as door prizes, became a sponsor of a hole on the course, or sponsor of our many other specialty sponsorships. If you had employees who played in the scramble, their participation was greatly appreciated as well. In the very near future, the monies will be given to the Christmas Wish Office, for them to use out in our community where it will have the best impact on the program.
